Our story starts in 2014 in Moldova, where we met while working at a restaurant called Propaganda — Svetlana as co-owner, and Andrei as a waiter. Before that, Svetlana worked in telecom and spent three years in China in the construction industry. Andrei, on the other hand, had just returned from a work & travel program in the U.S. and was navigating life after university setbacks and odd jobs.

In 2017, with the help of a Romanian passport and a bold plan, Andrei moved to Scotland with his twin brother, Serghei. After a challenging start — no job, no flat, and no address — they managed to settle in Kirkcaldy and eventually moved to Dunfermline. Svetlana followed soon after, relocating with her daughter and husband, even while pregnant, determined to build a new chapter abroad.

Svetlana went on to study art and graphic design, earning a degree from Napier University. Andrei explored paths in business, IT, and accounting, gaining work experience in hotels, Amazon, and payroll administration.

Over the years, we stayed connected. Our friendship and shared entrepreneurial spirit eventually led us here — starting Monoweb, a small web design studio built on passion, resilience, and a desire to support other small businesses in growing their presence online.
